Leave the tattered jeans and wrinkled shirts at home.

  • Dressing Inappropriately- You don’t have to wear a three piece suit to go out and eat.
  • If you’re looking for a boozed-up night, stay away from the nice restaurants and head to the nearest Gastropub or anywhere else that you can have a happy drunken time without disturbing everyone around you.
  • Getting plastered- There’s just nothing like a romantic dinner-for-two next to a table seated with inebriated, rowdy guests.
  • Food doesn’t cook itself, but it certainly will burn all by itself. So if you feel the need to say something, make it short and sweet. If the chef actually is out and about, it’s most likely to greet a VIP at their table. The chef does NOT have time to parade around the dining area looking for praise on a busy night.
  • Asking to speak to the chef- You have no idea what is going on behind those closed doors, but odds are it is absolute, organized chaos.
  • If the server was genuinely rude or provided bad service, tip poorly and next time request a different server.
  • Arguing with the server- Did the server cook your food? No.
  • A pizza and a babysitter are in order for the night. I do not want to celebrate my anniversary with my husband, all dressed-up and spending $50+ a plate, just to have the night ruined by your seed.

    In addition, children have no concept of how to behave in general let alone at a high-end eatery. Parents just don’t seem to value imparting that type of information onto the next generation like they should. Bringing your kids- In today’s day and age more children than ever have no concept of manners.I think violators of the following should have their pictures taken, be escorted off the premises, and have their mugs sent to every fine dining restaurant in the surrounding area with a sign that says, “Do Not Serve”. This is why I’ve drawn up a brief code-of-conduct, if you will, in order to help people understand that there are rules to be followed in fine dining. I, personally, think those dinners are worth their weight in gold. And while dinner is sure to put a dent in your wallet that night, other factors can certainly put a dent in your spirit as well. You make reservations at your favorite restaurant, get dressed up, and head out for a night of culinary pampering.
